Cheshire and Merseyside ICB

The main purpose of NHS Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care Board is to ensure a high quality of health care by commissioning appropriate health care services. They are a major partner in local work to improve the health of the whole population.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) monitor, inspect and regulate services to make sure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety.

The Eastern Cheshire area has a high elderly population compared to national average, with a high percentage of people aged over 65 and over 85. This is expected to increase into the future, which will result in rising demands on financial budgets and the services provided by the NHS in the local area.
