Knutsford Medical Partnership is taking the unusual step of messaging our patients to advise them of the real and ever-growing threat to the future of their local NHS GP services. There is unprecedented demand on our services and we are trying our best to meet this (GP surgeries have stretched to deliver an extra one million appointments per month: 2023 compared to 2022).
However last year we received a real terms cut in our funding and this year’s proposed funding represents a further real terms cut. This makes it harder for you to see a GP when you’re unwell. Hundreds of GP surgeries have already closed since 2013 and more surgeries will follow unless significant changes are made to invest in and stabilise GP services. We believe in funding primary care, so people can see their GPs when they need to, which saves lives and saves the NHS money. We encourage you to write your MP demanding urgent action to fairly fund GP surgeries. Please visit this website for further information https://nhssos.org.uk/
We are a GP Partnership working across 5 sites to deliver high quality care to approximately 23,300 residents of Knutsford and its surrounding areas. Our sites are Annandale, Manchester Road, Toft Road and Town Lane (Mobberley), we also run clinics from Knutsford Community Hospital.
We are keen innovators and as a result have roles within our team such as clinical pharmacists, social prescribers, workflow optimisers, physicians associates, paramedics and are always developing. Our receptionists are trained in signposting and we pride ourselves on ensuring patients see the right person for their care at the right time.
Knutsford Medical Partnership is our Primary Care Network, which allows us to drive projects that suit the need of our registered population. We work closely with our community services (district nurses, health visitors, community matrons, social workers etc), and with the voluntary sector in Knutsford.
The Annandale site has a dispensary which can offer medications to patients who live more than a mile from a pharmacy.
If you need GP assistance when we are closed please call NHS 111. Dial 111 and the service will direct you to wherever is best able to meet your needs taking into account your location, the time of day, and the capacity of local services.
