Paramedic

Primary care paramedics work alongside the GPs at the surgery to respond to urgent on the day medical requests.

They can assess, diagnose, treat, refer or signpost patients who attend the surgery with minor illnesses and minor injuries.

Our paramedics also work alongside our Knutsford Visiting Team and undertake home visits to patients who are housebound or otherwise unable to get into the surgery.

We have two paramedics, Jane and Amy. They are experienced in in-depth clinical assessment and history taking and able to see, treat, and refer patients independently, or liaise back with GPs to formulate care plans.

The goal of the paramedic team is to safely manage people at home and to avoid them having to go to hospital, however if they feel that you do need to go to hospital they are able to arrange admission direct to a speciality team.

The paramedic team can also refer you on to other community services such as the Proactive Care Team, Social Prescribers, and Community Nursing teams.
